More from the full-frame Nikon Exec interview
Here’s the full interview, but I’d like to draw some additional attention to it:
Question: What’s the biggest obstacles to Nikon in manufacturing and selling a full frame camera?
Answer: …the current situation is that the picture quality of the DX camera can already sufficiently produce a satisfying photograph…
Doesn’t the mere fact that everyone’s wondering about, asking questions, and hoping that Nikon will produce a FF sensor’d camera indicate that the consumer really wants it?
This kind of answer is complete corporate PR bull. When I ask for something that you don’t want to sell yet, just tell me that what you’re putting out is good enough (shakes head).
The Nikon F3 sitting on shelf, looking suave, is also good enough and for some reason, Nikon still made other models…grumble.
Companies also tend to say they “don’t have any plans…” or the “situation has not changed” and then do an about face tomorrow, so there’s still hope. But the shroud of secrecy isn’t helping.
Sites like mine shouldn’t exist, we really need a lot more transparency from Nikon.
