Many people have asked me, “Matt- you seem to know nothing and give marginal advice, can you tell me how to look like a pro?”

There’re a lot of things that make a pro look like a pro: huge lenses (too expensive for normal people), huge cameras (too expensive for normal people), lots of cameras (too expensive for normal people)- do you notice the trend? Most of it involves being too costly for the average person.

Then there’s the other tipoff that tells someone you’re a pro- you’re wearing stuff that’s far too ugly for any normal person to wear. I’m talking about you guys with your photographer’s vests- here’s a typical selection.

But let’s not forget the fashion accessories- once you’ve got a load of cameras with huge lenses hanging off your neck and the 20 pockets of your vest filled with film canisters Gepe flash card wallets (which are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE) there’s still more that you need to do to complete the look- you need to have things hanging off of your belt!

Up until Nikon’s recent announcement, you kind of really only had one choice- an external flash battery unit like this.

But god spoke and lo! There was another horrible, horrible way to complete your new Pro Photographer look!

Ladies and Gentlemen- Nikon gives you the Wt-4 / A!

“Never Again” was the rallying cry of the Professional-wannabe’s! Never again would their belt be free of ugly, large accessories! Never again would they be forced to look like normal people. Nikon listened to their prayers and answered them with a thundering “NEVER AGAIN“!

It does have some great features though:

• Wired ethernet 100 and 10 meg- no gigabit ethernet unfortunately- maybe it would have been a battery hog?
• Form local area networks with other people and show them your shots. Probably good for real pro’s, not me.
