D300 Samples from Paris – High ISO Only
[Note: in my haste to get these out, I didn't make it clear- they're high ISO shots, which explains the noise, etc. For example, the first one is at 800iso as the EXIF data shows.
Also: LordBeau, in the comments, mentions the CA he's seeing and I was thinking the same thing (check the rafters) but I'm of the opinion that the light is just like that, but maybe I'm wrong. The lens (according to EXIF on the NEF's) was the 17-55mm at about 44mm, NR off.
I think you'll need ViewNX to look at the NEF's also, until Capture's updated.]
(via dpReview) Test samples taken at the Salon de la Photo with Nikon D300, 17-55 2.8 @44, 2.8. NR off, Hi ISO NR off. All lossless compressed NEFs.
I’ve mirrored them here because the file xfer site he was using to host them is annoying.

These aren’t too bad. The resolution is good though I can spot large amounts of CA, and they do look pretty choppy, even at ISO 800. Unfortunately, my copy of Capture NX can’t read the NEF files. I see that a decent lens has been used. Hmm…
