I’ve seen a few posts like this lately:

Couldn’t quite justify the D3 but the D300 looks interesting. Googled it and came up with ‘mostly’ $1600+/- prices but a few 900 buck prices…hmmmm. Decided to call and see if they were playing the usual import/USA model etc. and seems that there’s a polycarbonate model. I didn’t check out anything else and just wondered if anyone bought the ‘plastic/polymer/polycarbonate’ model over the ‘usual’ magnesium-bodied D300.

No, there are no cameras that Nikon makes in both plastic and metal bodies, anyone who attempts to sell you on this concept is lying, that’s all there is to it.

Do not do business with companies that have cameras at prices that are too good- you know they’re too good. Trust your gut.
