BHPhotoVideo – Yes, We Have No D3’s in Stock
Apparently the deal with BHPhotoVideo and the D3 is that if you want one, you’d better call every day and get lucky. So that’s what I’ve been doing.
Of course, you always want to chat them up for some more info:
Q: Do they know when more are going to be delivered?
A: No.
Q: How many do you typically get at a time?
A: Depends on how many we order.
Q: How many do you tend to order?
A: Well…
Q: Tens, hundreds…?
A: Hundreds.
So it looks like they fill their preorders and then the leftovers go out to whatever schlubs ask for one if there’re any left, and if they order several hundred, I’m sure there’re frequently leftovers.
