Finally got it. Someone posted on dpReview that BuyDig.com had a few in stock, called and was able to get the 2nd out of 5 they received.

Despite some initial hassles with the credit card address, Andre at their custom service took care of it and I even got it delivered on a Saturday!

Since I also have a D2x, when it warms up, I’ll be shooting comparison shots from each camera to get a better idea of how it differs, but I’m really happy to finally get back the perspectives I originally bought my lenses for.

Also- I love the autofocus color tracking- it works fairly well.

Unfortunately, since I don’t have any cats, I can’t post a picture for you
