Others have seen it at iso 12800. No reports at less than that, thankfully, because >6400 is an emergency-only setting forme.

So far, to my knowledge, and I read a lot of forums to find this stuff- there is precisely ONE report of a banding problem with the D3, and it can be found here.

I’m going to discount this as a bad sample of 1 sensor unless I see more of it. Mine hasn’t shown any issues like this. The specific noted situation is a really dark scene with bright points of light, so I’ll see if I can replicate some scenarios that that.
