D3x $6k 24mp, D10* FX $3k?
A guy who, it’s said, has been dead-on in the past says:
Sendai Nikon Preparation 2 new models.
1 is D3x 24Mpixel FX camera 6000$
2 is D10? FX camera 3.0LCD 3000$
2 camera arrive in this year.
Also Nikon Thailand Preparation D80 Successor(1000$) and more.
I can see #1 happening and a cheaper FX body would be lovely too, and I’d full expect that it will happen. Will they arrive this year? I have my doubts, but who knows?

I’d love to see a “D10″ FX with a more competitive price point (as of today, the 5D is $2,200 at BH). I’m sure Nikon have a lot under their sleeves, but for $800 you could get an FX camera body and some fine glass.
I think that an “entry level” Nikon FX should be, among many things, targeted to eating the potential 5D market share.

Nikon does not directly target the competition. So you’re not going to see a 5D equivalent from Nikon. Whatever you do eventually see will be above or below the 5D or its replacement. Seeing as how a D300 is $1700 and a D3 is $5000 and combining that with a weak dollar, I would bet a lower cost FX comes in at around $3300 to $3500.
