I agree...it's way too slow. That should be a major fix in v2. I actually can't see a huge difference in speed between my new iMac and my old powerbook G4...that's right - powerbook, not mac book pro.

I think a lot of people (myself included) use it primarily for it's rendering of NEFs, which is better/different to other software, and it's U-point technology. That alone saves me a lot of time instead of having to use use masks when it's not necessary.

Now that Lightroom 2 will incorporate a similar feature, I may stop using it altogether, though.

I must agree with wings. I've actually switched from using Photoshop primarily (after 10 years) to using Capture NX becuase of the U-Point technology.

The UI sucks and I hate that you can't move steps around, but hopefully that will improve. I'd love to see it be able to understand other programs ratings as well cause I can't get View NX to work worth a darn on my machine...

Great site btw - just stumbled onto it and am glad I did...great work.

I use the control point feature often and find that it works quite well. It has its limitations, of course, but given that I'm already using Capture NX for its fantastic colour rendering, it's not inconvenient.

I agree that the UI is horrendous. Batch processing is incredibly painful as well.
