Nikon Australia- No 85mm f/1.4 Listed Anymore!
Andrew has found that the Australian Nikon page doesn’t list the 85mm f/1.4 any more! It does list the f/1.8 though.
In light of the recent flood of AF-S primes rumors, is this a coincidence or just an oop by Nikon Australia?
I want to believe…
This is the only camera store that NikonWatch trusts- never any hassle, gimmicks, or problems:

Nikon singapore website still has it though.

AF 85mm f/1.4 is my first and favorite lens. Unless there is something with better bokeh, I will never trade it.

Not that this means anything because the websites are not necessarily updated quickly when things change, but the 85 1.4 is still listed on the Global, Japan, UK and US Nikon sites. And it is currently in-stock at New York’s B&H.

I wouldn’t read too much into it. The 35-70 f/2.8 stayed in production for a decade after it was replaced by the 28-70. My guess is that availability is affected more by long lead times and limited production capabilities than marketing decisions.
The 85 f/1.4 has such a following, I doubt they would withdraw the lens just to clear the shelves. The 17-35 and the 28-70 weren’t cleared out before introducing the 14-24 or the 24-70.
