That’s actually nice of Nikon to have a List Price and a MAP and permit dealers to sell, but not advertise, below the MAP. The Supreme Court ruled last year that manufacturers can force a minimum selling price on dealers, but Nikon seems to be sticking by the old rule.
Considering how low the dollar is, $3K for the camera, while still expensive for me, is a bargain, especially compared to Euro pricing.
