I’m pretty sure this comparison doesn’t need to be done- presuming they’re using the same sensor (they are) and they’re using the same image processing ASICs- eXpeed (they are), but the Japanese didn’t let that stop them

Here’s a comparison of the noise at ISO’s from 1,600 – 25,600 with both the D3 and the D700 (translated, original).

Looks the same to my eye, but that’s the point, isn’t it?
