I’ve had a link to the Nikon Historical Society in the blogroll for a while but I don’t think I ever really mentioned it and X sends me a link to a  list of their meetings and presentations like this one presented by a Ph.D. in friction and lubricants on the rangefinder cameras and how they were specially lubricated for Arctic expeditions, etc.

If you’re interested in the old cameras, which I think are utterly fascinating given that they were entirely mechanical and managed to do everything without any computer chips, you really ought to check out the NHS website.
