Even if you're a professional photographer trying to stay at the cutting edge of your business, I doubt you're going to lose a job just because the other guy has an A850 and you don't. Good luck, though. If Nikon can't sell a D700X for $3,000 and make a profit, they have their hands tied. If so, look for them to acquire CMOS manufacturing capability by purchasing someone already in the business. It would be very expensive, but might be the best long term solution for Nikon. They might also get business from others wanting to get away from Sony.
